If You Had $1,000, Would You Buy Shiba Inu or Dogecoin? See What the Poll Says

Published

on

Dogecoin basked in the limelight in early 2021 but met with fierce competition from its then-rival, Shiba Inu. SHIB called itself the “Dogecoin killer” but eventually removed the language after gaining equal fame in the cryptocurrency sphere. However, both digital assets have a sea of fan followers who dream of their price reaching the moon. Nonetheless, DOGE and SHIB’s price dipped in 2022 and is only beginning to see a sigh of relief this year.

Shiba Inu and Dogecoin boast of a larger-than-life following where investors believe either one of these two cryptocurrencies could quench their financial aspirations. While the Dogecoin Army wants it to reach $1, the Shiba Inu Army wants the token to reach $0.01. Whether they would reach their desired target in the coming years is a different ball game, which includes supply dynamics.

However, Benzinga held an online poll recently asking investors: “If you had $1,000, would you buy Shiba Inu or Dogecoin?” The results of the poll are out, and Dogecoin wins with a thumping majority. About 61.7% of the investors polled said that they would choose to put their $1,000 into Dogecoin. Only 38.3% of investors polled voted to put their $1,000 into the Shiba Inu token.

Dogecoin: 61.7%
Shiba Inu: 38.3%.

The development suggests that Dogecoin remains to be an undisputed king in the meme coin token market. The poll also indicates that investors believe DOGE can deliver quick returns that its counterpart SHIB. However, SHIB performed better in January, as it shot up 43% in 30 days. On the other hand, DOGE spiked 31% during the same period and is now looking to go above $0.10. Moreover, whether DOGE will reach $1 first, or will SHIB touch $0.01 first, only time will tell.

This article highlights the results of the Benzinga poll which asked investors which cryptocurrency they would choose if they had $1,000 – Dogecoin or Shiba Inu. The results showed that 61.7% of investors would choose Dogecoin and 38.3% would choose Shiba Inu, indicating that Dogecoin is still the undisputed king in the meme coin token market. However, Shiba Inu performed better than Dogecoin in January, with SHIB shooting up 43% in 30 days and DOGE spiking 31%. It remains to be seen which crypto will reach their desired targets first. #Dogecoin #ShibaInu #Cryptocurrency #MemeCoin

Tron founder and advisor to the exchange, Justin Sun, has stated that Huobi could get a Hong Kong crypto license in six to twelve months. Specifically, Sun told Coindesk that the exchange applied to become a virtual asset service provider (VASP) last week. Additionally, Sun discussed the process of the VASP application and his belief that the crypto exchange could have an answer by the end of the year. Huobi had recently relocated to Hong Kong, aiming to launch Huobi Hong Kong by the summer. Sun was asked about embracing potential competition in the Canadian market and noted the strict regulatory standards in the country, referring to the Caribbean, Hong Kong, and Japan. There has been no verification of other cryptocurrency exchanges that have applied for a similar license, however, Coindesk reported Sun’s expectation that five to six other exchanges could make the move.

This news is good for Huobi as they are in the process of obtaining a crypto license in Hong Kong, which would allow them to operate in the region and serve customers. Other exchanges may also apply for the license, and the grace period given to the exchange could provide them with the opportunity to get approval in the next six to twelve months.
